ATTENTION UNIFOR LOCAL 229 MEMBERSHIP

NOTICE OF SERGEANT AT ARMS POSITION NOMINATION AND ELECTION

The Sergeant at Arms position is vacant on the Unifor Local 229 Executive Board for the
remainder of the 2025-2028 term.

The nomination period is from February 11, 2026, to February 18, 2026, at 4:00 pm.
Nominations received outside of these timelines will be invalid. Nominees will be contacted by
the Election Committee between February 18-19, 2026. Nominees must respond to the
Election Committee within 24 hours from the time when they are contacted or their nomination
will be deemed closed.

If an election is required, the advance election date will be held on February 20, 2026, from
10:00 am-8:30 pm. If an election is required the regular election date will be held on February
26, 2026, from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm at the Unifor Local 229 office at 1060 Lithium Drive.
There is no proxy voting, members must be present to cast their ballot. Members must bring
either their personal identification or their workplace identification. Candidate names will be
forwarded to units no later than February 19, 2026.

For members who work in the District, election instructions will be forwarded to an Election
Committee designated in each workplace for posting and sharing.

If there are any questions or concerns, please contact the Election Committee as listed above.

Please note: Responses from the Election Committee may be delayed as these committee
members are not available daily. The Election Committee members are booked off on a
Union Leave of Absence as required to fulfil the duties of an election.
